DO YOU HAVE AN ACTIVE HANDICAP?

Which Club Competitions Require Active Handicaps?
- From January 2010 all players will be allocated an active or inactive handicap. An active handicap has been gained by entering at least 3 qualifying competitions during 2009 and to maintain an active handicap another 3 qualifying scores will be required each year.
- Clubs have been advised to restrict entry to important competitions (such as ‘Board’ competitions and similar) to those players with active handicaps. In addition those players with inactive handicaps should be given ample opportunity to gain an active handicap.
- Management Committee has considered this issue and has agreed that all major competitions will be have restrictions on entry but other qualifying competitions such as monthly medals or stablefords will be unrestricted. It is hoped by the end of the year the majority of players will have gained an active handicap and further restrictions can be considered.
- In addition there will be a requirement that entry into our Open Days and Members and Guests will require an active handicap. It is likely that other Golf Clubs will follow suit and therefore Club Members are encouraged to gain an active handicap as soon as possible.
- The handicapping system will identify those players with active handicaps with the symbol (i) after their handicap.
- The following is a list of club competitions for which you will need an active handicap:-
